KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): VSTECS Bhd (KL:VSTECS), via its unit VSTECS Pericomp Sdn Bhd, has signed a memorandum of collaboration with Skyvast Data Sdn Bhd to jointly distribute and commercialise artificial intelligence (AI) chip solutions in Malaysia.
Under the agreement, VSTECS will become the national distribution partner for Skyvast’s sovereign artificial intelligence infrastructure and GPU-as-a-Service offerings.
Skyvast is specialised in operating AI-ready data centres and managing advanced AI servers, including solutions for cloud, storage and co-location services, VSTECS said.
Through the collaboration, VSTECS will leverage its enterprise and public sector reach to promote Skyvast’s portfolio, which includes AI-as-a-Service and sector-specific AI solutions.
Both firms plan to co-develop applications tailored to sectors such as education, finance, smart cities and small-medium enterprises.
The partnership aims to support real-world AI adoption across Malaysia’s digital economy by delivering scalable, secure and high-performance infrastructure.
VSTECS chief executive officer Soong JH said the partnership aligns with the company’s vision of broadening AI accessibility through its ICT ecosystem.
“AI is fast becoming an indispensable tool for business, and we are committed to enabling its adoption through our extensive ICT ecosystem while supporting the nation’s broader digital transformation agenda,” Soong said.
Skyvast chief executive officer Lim Chee Siong said, “With VSTECS’s deep market knowledge, expansive channel network, and strong footprint across enterprise and government sectors, we are confident in our ability to accelerate AI adoption and empower more Malaysian organisations to thrive in the AI era.”
Shares of VSTECS settled down 4.2% or 14 sen at RM3.22 on Monday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.16 billion.
