Enterprise systems contract is valued at RM30 million

Leading ICT distribution hub lists on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad today

Kuala Lumpur, 15 April 2010 – ECS ICT Berhad (“ECSB”, “佳杰科技”), a leading Information and Communications Technology (“ICT”) distribution hub in Malaysia, via ECS Pericomp Sdn Bhd has teamed up with global networking giant Cisco Systems, Inc (“Cisco”) to supply the network infrastructure for YTL Communications’ 4G WiMAX broadband service rollout nationwide.

The RM30 million network project is ECSB’s single largest enterprise systems contract for 2010. The contract entails ECSB purchasing Cisco products from multiple factories worldwide, and providing services for shipping, importing, staging and delivery to YTL Communications for its nationwide implementation.

YTL Communications was awarded the license to operate a 2.3 GHz wireless broadband network in Malaysia from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (“MCMC”). YTL Communications has since partnered with leading WiMAX technology players to build its infrastructure.

YTL Communications is poised to be the first in the world to launch a nationwide 4G network offering state-of-the-art mobile connectivity to Malaysia. YTL Communications targets to introduce its groundbreaking initiative in the second half of this year.

The main Cisco products supplied by ECSB are for YTL’s WiMAX IP Core Network including Cisco 7600 series routers and Cisco Catalyst 6500 series switches. For the Operational Support Systems, ECSB supplied the Cisco Service Control Engine 8000, Cisco Active Network Abstraction and Cisco Network Registrar.

ECSB shared this at the Group’s listing ceremony on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad today.

ECSB’s IPO raised RM39.4 million, of which RM24.3 million will be used for working capital, RM5.4 million for the pre-listing acquisition of 20% equity stake in one of its subsidiaries, RM5.0 million for business expansion, RM3.0 million for listing expenses, and RM1.7 million to fund the pre-listing consolidation of its subsidiaries.

ECSB had recently announced sterling results for its financial year ended 31 December 2009 (“FY2009”), with revenues growing 16.0% year-on-year to hit RM1.3 billion and net profit jumping 26.3% to RM25.0 million.
