KUALA LUMPUR, 06 SEPTEMBER 2018 – ECS ICT Berhad (ECS, 佳杰科技; Bloomberg: ECS MK; Reuters: ECSI.KL) (“ECS” or the “Group”), Malaysia’s leading Information & Communications Technology (“ICT”) distributor, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ECS ASTAR Sdn Bhd has been awarded the distributorship of two new product offerings from DJI. DJI, the global leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology has introduced a new era for camera drones with two additions to its iconic Mavic series; Mavic 2 Pro, the world’s first drone with an integrated Hasselblad camera for outstanding image quality, and Mavic 2 Zoom, the world’s first foldable consumer drone with optical zoom capability. 

The Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom drones will be available at authorised ECS Dealers across Malaysia for the retail price of RM 6,599 and RM 5,699 respectively, and the “Fly More Kit” which includes two additional batteries, a multi-battery charging hub, a car charger, a battery to power bank adapter, two pairs of propellers and a carrying bag, with retail value at RM 1,399. 

ECS is the authorised distributor for DJI products in Malaysia since early 2016. The Group’s resellers are primarily ICT retailers, online merchants, hobby shops, large format electronic channels, mobile stores, system integrators and also camera and photography equipment retail channels. ECS is also the authorised service centre for DJI products that offers both warranty and after-sales services. 

Speaking at the launch event today, Chief Executive Officer of ECS, Mr. Soong Jan Hsung expressed, “The newly launched Mavic 2 Pro with its uniqueness of Hasselblad camera shows superior image quality as the real eye and the Mavic 2 Zoom, apart from being the first foldable consumer drone with zoom, it also features the exclusive new Dolly Zoom QuickShot mode for better storytelling. Both drones feature distinct functions and capabilities, which are specially catered for professionals, aerial and landscape photography as well as content creators. We believe that these two products will bring more excitement to enthusiasts and be well-received by our local customers as seen with our experience having distributed various products offered by DJI.”
